Kitchen facades made of natural oak.

Oak facades. from this phrase, the heart of any person who selects a kitchen is compressed. Facades made of natural oak are an eternal, never aging classic, a kitchen with such facades will never want to change, it will not go out of fashion and will not lose relevance.

With proper care, oak oak facades have an almost endless life - they are not afraid of moisture, easily tolerate moderate mechanical influences, in a word, it is OAK! Oak facades have only one drawback, as a rule, they are expensive, but the Kukhni-Vse factory, a manufacturer of inexpensive economy-class kitchens, has successfully solved this problem. Our facades are not an imitation of valuable species of wood, and not an artificial base covered with thin veneer, but a real oak massif, both outside and inside. We offer inexpensive wooden oak facades, as well as kitchens equipped with oak doors. The colors, milling options and high-quality photographs of such facades are posted below.

Doors for kitchen furniture

Furniture in the kitchen should meet the individual tastes of a person and his aesthetic preferences. These desires determine what the kitchen will be like: with shelves, drawers or lockable doors. Although more and more often in kitchen furniture we see a combination of these elements.

The main functions of the retractable systems are storage and ensuring the convenient use of necessary kitchen items and utensils. The main type of extension systems in the kitchen are sliding cabinets. In addition to the possibilities of a more rational use of the space of kitchen furniture, the retractable systems of modern furniture in the kitchen are an example of continuous technological improvement.

Today there are various original versions of boxes with wheels, designs that include metal baskets (metaboxes, high retractable cargo mechanisms (bottles), etc. A convenient option for a roll-out cabinet is full-roll corner boxes.

Fashionable and interesting from the point of view of your own ideas regarding the interior of the kitchen are cabinets with drawers with glass facades. A showcase will allow you to create an original style of design for your kitchen.

The non-standard in the decision to design a kitchen using kitchen furniture can be expressed in the use of hand-made drawers. This is the use of old fruit and vegetable drawers as drawers.

Advantages and disadvantages of swing systems

Swing systems in modern kitchens are often considered obsolete and less functional. They take up more space in the kitchen. One can hardly count on new inventive solutions for their improvement.

But they also have their indisputable advantage - they are less expensive, and in case of repair they will not require too many costs, therefore, their availability to the buyer is higher.

Door construction design

However, the modern market for kitchen furniture is not limited to offering only these types of enclosed modules for kitchen sets. Significant changes are being made to the seemingly traditional system of mechanisms for kitchen furniture with doors. New types of kitchen doors include:

  1. Folding doors, in other words they are called “doors with a hoisting mechanism”. Thanks to hydraulic mechanisms, these doors can be lifted virtually without human effort. In new, mainly European, kitchen sets, these mechanisms are used in cabinets for built-in electric mini ovens.
  2. Sliding doors. They move horizontally from the center of the kitchen cabinet, providing convenient access to the items that are stored in it. Functionally, they are well suited to place a cooking zone behind them.
  3. Tambour doors By their design, they are close to roll shutters and rise vertically. They are used as small niches in which you can store small household appliances.

Depending on the design of the kitchen doors, they are divided into classic and radius. Classic (direct) doors of kitchen furniture are located on the same plane and until recently they dominated the production of kitchen sets.

Today widespread radius doors. These are bent doors that are made of different materials. It is often said that the demand for this type of facade (doors of furniture for the kitchen is also called its facade) in kitchen furniture is due to the fact that the radius doors give the kitchen a richer look. The combination of convex and concave kitchen facades allows you to create an original composition of kitchen furniture.

In addition to the aesthetic function, these facades are convenient for the corner modules of the kitchen set and are safer for children.

But while this type of facade is more expensive, although the use of high-strength film in its manufacture instead of multi-layer painting technology allows these models to be significantly cheaper. Furniture with radial doors requires more space in the kitchen. See also information about carved furniture.

An even greater variety than the mechanisms and forms of the door for kitchen furniture is the material from which these facade elements are made. The main materials that are used in the manufacture of the front sides of kitchen furniture (kitchen doors, or facades) include: solid wood, MDF (wood-fiber boards), plastic, particleboard (particle boards), glass. The use of aluminum or a combination of these materials for this purpose is beginning to spread. Bar furniture for the kitchen - find out how to make the right choice.

Materials

The materials for the production of kitchen facades have very high requirements associated with their operation in conditions of high humidity and temperature changes in the kitchen. No lessenvironmental tasks are also important, the kitchen, like no other room in the house, is associated with the life of a person, his health. Decorative features of kitchen interiors are also significant.

Basic requirements for kitchen facades

The kitchen has different operating conditions for the furniture than in the living room or bedroom. The active use of water, the heat coming from the oven, oven and other appliances, the evaporation from the prepared dishes, the frequent opening / closing of drawers, doors - all this has a negative effect on the furniture.

Kitchen furniture will last a long time and will not lose its aesthetic appearance if it:

  1. resistant to wet environments and direct exposure to water,
  2. It is resistant to heat, especially for modules standing next to the oven, oven,
  3. made from quality raw materials,
  4. equipped with reliable fittings.

The requirements apply not only to the technical characteristics of the cabinet and the furniture facade for the kitchen, but also to their appearance:

  1. compliance with the general concept of interior design,
  2. the right color choice for furniture of a particular style.

Options for kitchen facades. Pros and cons of various materials

Ready-made facades for the kitchen are made of different materials, each of which has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Models of solid wood are expensive, solid and have an interesting texture. These are great classic headsets for decades. But the production of bent, radiused wooden elements is quite complex and expensive, and caring for solid wood is not easy.

Ready-made facades for the kitchen from MDF are light, durable and aesthetic. Appearance and performance depend on the type of surface treatment:

  1. Enamel staining. Modern technology allows you to get a coating of any color, including with the effect of mother of pearl and metallic. The surface may be glossy or matte. MDF facades for paint on the kitchen set are beautiful, durable, resistant to moisture and heat. One minus is the high price, which can even be higher than on wooden products, since the cost of painting with enamel is higher than just stain and varnish.
  2. PVC film coating. Such doors are inexpensive, made of MDF, and their surface is aesthetic, durable and reliable. Color does not fade in the sun, furniture can be washed by any means. The disadvantage is a cheaper appearance, stains after washing, fingerprints, which is why the cabinets have to be cleaned every day.

Plastic facades are moisture resistant and easy to clean. You can choose any color and pattern. Products are inexpensive and can be matched to any interior style.

Veneered facades for the kitchen have an elegant look, they are durable and environmentally friendly. The complex production process makes the products expensive, but still cheaper than the facades of natural wood. Veneers can be veneered with MDF, which, unlike wood, does not “play”, it will not be torn from drying out, it will not swell from moisture.

Products from eco-veneer. The main plus is imitation of natural veneer at an affordable price. Plates for doors and other elements are made by multilayer pressing on the basis of a polypropylene film. As a result, products get a beautiful texture or pattern. The disadvantage of the material is the inability to recover if damaged. Since the price is low, replacing the kitchen facades solves the problem.

Tree

  • the most environmentally friendly are natural wood facades and solid wood worktops, they differ in the duration of use,
  • The presence of a furniture facade made of solid wood speaks today about the stability and high prosperity of its owner, this is evidence of some aristocracy and the constancy of traditions, combined with fashion trends in home design,
  • But the magnificent advantages of this material determine its high cost, in addition, kitchen furniture with wooden doors needs special care.

You should also remember the harmful effects of high humidity and bright sunlight on them.

Glass

Recently, glass inserts in the kitchen facade or completely glass doors (decorated with patterns, embossed, faceted, covered with paint, tinted, etc.) have come into fashion. Furniture with such doors looks modern and festive. The advantage of such facades is the glass's resistance to external influences (except mechanical), temperature, and relative ease of maintenance.

It is necessary to take into account the fragility of the glass, however, for the safety of operation, glass facades in the production are pasted over with a reinforcing film.

Facade cladding

The variety of facing materials for kitchen furniture facades is impressive: enamel painting, gluing with PVC film, veneer finish, plastic lining. Each of these methods of facing has its own advantages and operational disadvantages.

Veneer cladding makes the doors for a kitchen set similar to furniture made of natural wood, gives such furniture solidity and a rich look. At the same time, a variety of decor is also achieved, since veneering is used with various types of wood, and the veneer itself is varnished, stained, painted, etc. Furniture with such doors is in the middle and high price category.

Enamel coating allows you to diversify the color of kitchen furniture, you can paint the doors of kitchen furniture of any shape. Such a coating allows you to protect your furniture from moisture, surfaces painted with enamel paint are easily washed with ordinary detergents.
The main disadvantages of staining: the price of such a coating is higher than plastic or gluing, bright colors of enameled furniture may fade over time, scratches and minor defects are clearly visible on the surface covered with paint. Find out how to choose a kitchen cabinet from this link.

The most economical and simplest is the application of PVC films on MDF:

  • this coating protects the doors of the kitchen furniture and allows you to make a surface with almost any pattern,
  • in addition to the low price, these facades attract with their comparative durability, mechanical stability and ease of maintenance,
  • but they have a significant drawback associated with the production technology - the film coating can peel off over time or under the influence of adverse effects (temperature, moisture).

Kitchen furniture with a film coating is not the best option for sunny apartments.

Facades with plastic cladding were the most popular and affordable in Soviet times.Coating kitchen furniture with plastic is characterized by good performance: duration of use, resistance to sunlight and temperature, they are waterproof, these surfaces are well cleaned.

The disadvantages include streaks when washing a door from matte plastic facades, possible deformation of the plastic surface during the plastic lining of the kitchen unit.

Today, the combined use of different materials based on MDF frame facades is gaining ground. In the frame made of the profile, another material is inserted: glass, plastic, natural rattan, etc. At the same time, the frame itself is covered with veneer or PVC film. This technology allows you to simultaneously create various door models and reduce their cost through the use of inexpensive materials. However, this complicates the care of such furniture.

Despite the fact that plastic is used in the lining of kitchen facades and MDF, more often this lining is used specifically to cover the particleboard base. This significantly reduces the cost of furniture, since the chipboard itself is cheaper. But you should take into account the very fragility of the base from particleboard and often too unpresentable form of furniture from this material.
How to choose a tabletop from chipboard, and choose the right size, read in this material.

How to choose: wooden, glass

In order to choose the kitchen facade you need, you need to consider many factors:

  • the area of your kitchen
  • features of its location,
  • correlate the requirements for the operational characteristics of the kitchen set with the features of your artistic taste,
  • take into account the specifics of care for certain types of facades.
  • environmental friendliness and safety of furniture and its elements associated with the material and the manufacturing technology of doors and mechanisms for their fastening,
  • An important role in your choice will be played by the price of kitchen furniture.

Fittings, replace

For the functional properties of furniture and its design, hardware for doors is of great importance. Among the design innovations of the latest generation, push handles, the use of built-in magnets or electrical wires stand out.

To service hardware for kitchen doors and cabinets include:

  • damper systemsoftening claps and bumps,
  • loops
  • guides (roller and ball),
  • hoisting gears (mechanical and pneumatic),
  • metaboxes or metal boxes,
  • roof rails,
  • systems for very small angles such as “magic corner”,
  • baskets (retractable, roller.

The main design elements of cabinet furniture are handles, but along with aesthetic appeal and originality, they must have functional properties: withstand a variety of mechanical stresses, be resistant to the special microclimate of the kitchen, etc.

Since kitchen furniture today is both cabinet furniture and a complex technological design, it is better to entrust the professionals with measurements of the dimensions of the facades, their installation, including doors. Or follow the instructions that came with the kitchen set.

Decorating Ideas

Ideas for decorating kitchen doors can be very diverse and unusual. This can be staining, wallpapering and plastic battens, the use of wooden and metal linings, etc. The special scope for furniture design makes it possible to replace facades and handles.

Over time, the doors of kitchen furniture begin to need restoration. Depending on what kind of furniture your restoration may include:

  • painting of facades with interior paints,
  • pasting up kitchen furniture with polymer films,
  • replacement of a sliding door closer,
  • varnishing of wooden facades for the kitchen,
  • replacing panels with rattan, glass and other materials,
  • replacement of overhead or mortise handles for furniture.

Depending on the volume and complexity of such restoration work and on your skills, you should decide whether you contact the appropriate company or whether you can do it yourself.

Kitchen cabinet care

Care of kitchen facades is largely determined by the material from which they are made and their decor:

  • Compliance with the general requirements: the air temperature in the kitchen must not be lower than +10 ° C and not higher than +40 ° C.
  • You should be aware of the prolonged exposure to direct sunlight on the facades of the kitchen.
  • Care must be taken to ensure that their furniture surface is dry, otherwise they will soon have to be replaced.

The world of kitchen furniture today is a bright and diverse world in which you can find the furniture that will best meet your requirements, both in terms of the functions of this furniture, the characteristics of its operation, and from the point of view of your understanding of the environmentally friendly living environment, its comfort and aesthetic perfection.

This is what should determine the choice of the “face” of the kitchen set - the hinged facade of the kitchen. And with proper care with your hands, the selected kitchen furniture will please you for a long time.
